The project leaders are Jun. Prof. Dr. Tobias Vogt and Niklas Knab from the Institute for Mediation Skills in Sports (teaching and research area tennis), and Dr. Sven Hoffmann from the Institute for Psychology (Department of Performance Psychology) at the German Sport University Cologne. The previous small trial in 2016 within the framework of Dr. Sven Hoffmann’s course was already pleasingly positive. We are therefore very confident about the results of the upcoming study. We will keep you informed here as soon as we are allowed to report on it. So far, we are allowed to publish the following preliminary results in the wording: The time of automation from an unskilled movement (closed loop) to an automated movement (open loop) is shortened with spivo®. This is achieved by making auditory reafferences* available to the athlete, which they can use as “online feedback”. This way the athlete receives feedback already during the execution of the movement, which they can immediately use in their learning process.
*Definition Reafferences: Reafferences are used to provide feedback about an executed movement of the own body. They are receptor excitations which are caused by the body's own movements and are transmitted via the nerve tracts.
